The Challenge

When Martin Chuck began his coaching career, he quickly realized a major obstacle: athlete's struggled to retain information. He describes the struggle of playing catch up at the start of every lesson: “I'd see these people come practice and hopefully they’d remember what they were taught the previous time... but they wouldn't”.

In his early days, video technology was clunky and far from efficient. Martin relied on a refrigerator-sized tube TV mounted on a cart with dual VHS tape players and analog dials.

After each session, he'd record onto a VHS tape and hand it off to the student as a reference. As formats evolved from VHS to CDs and thumb drives, his workflow remained disjointed. Athletes often lacked the tools or technical know-how to access the footage, making it difficult to reflect on and apply what they’d learned.

“A lot of people didn’t even have a computer that you could pop it inside of,” Martin notes. Despite his efforts to bridge the feedback gap, the limitations of physical media made meaningful, continuous improvement a challenge for both coach and athlete.

The Solution

Everything changed for Martin Chuck when he was introduced to CoachNow. “It blew my mind,” he recalls. “All the extra time at the end of the day went away.”

With CoachNow, Martin eliminated the inefficiencies that plagued his workflow for years — no more lost SD cards, outdated tech, or time-consuming follow-ups.

Thanks to real-time cloud syncing, lesson videos and feedback are instantly accessible to athletes, often before the session even ends. “Basically, with everybody's cell phone plan, the lesson's in the cloud before the lesson's over.”

CoachNow became the central hub for Martin’s coaching ecosystem.

The Results

Today, he manages 5,280 athletes on the platform — the vast majority of whom have attended an in-person camp or lesson. The remaining 10% participate in growing online programs, expanding his reach beyond the physical range.

The platform has not only streamlined his communication, but also enhanced the athlete experience. “It makes coaching relational way quicker,” Martin says. “The athletes know they've got a support system and a golf coach that cares about them.”

Martin even uses CoachNow as a model in his coach-to-coach clinics around the world, from North America to Europe. “Please copy what I do if you think it'll help you,” he tells fellow coaches.

And despite the large volume of students, he feels more in control than ever: “If I'm not overwhelmed by 5,200 students, you're not going to be overwhelmed by 200 — I assure you.”
