As I’ve said countless times before, if you’re not practicing with feedback, you’re wasting your time. In fact, you’re actually getting worse each time you practice, too.

In order to keep progressing and reaching your goals, it’s essential to practice like a pro.

This style of intentional practice includes many different things, including focusing on the importance of retention, documenting your growth, and analysis, to name a few.

Today, I want to help simplify this process even further and talk about 3 of my favorite ways to track your progress throughout your training journey.

They’re super easy to implement and will make a world of difference.

Let’s jump right in!

Tags

Tags

Tags are here to save you hours of time.

Say goodbye to the days of scrolling endlessly through your camera roll, trying to find a certain video or image to show your coach.

By organizing your training content with tags, you can quickly find exactly what you’re looking for, whether it be a specific drill or workout.

It might feel like extra work at first, but once it becomes part of your routine, tagging makes managing your training content so much simpler.

You can also create custom tags for drills, strategy, or practice plans to help organize your content even further.

Hit the ‘Add Tags’ button to create your custom tag when you're logging a session, then tap "done."

Getting into the habit of tagging everything related to your training will save you valuable time in the future.

Frequency

Frequency

Equally important to how you’re practicing is how often you’re practicing.

It’s essential that you find a cadence that works for you, whether that be daily, a few times a week, monthly, etc.

Every athlete’s training plan needs to be individualized to them specifically in order to be best set up for success and avoid burnout.

Whether you’re working on your own or with a coach, take some time to think about when you feel your best.

Do you thrive on repetition, showing up multiple times a week to reinforce good habits? If so, great.

If not, you might need longer breaks between training sessions to recover and spend more time analyzing your progress.

One of the biggest keys to an athlete excelling is to find what works best for them and adapting their training accordingly, and how frequently you’re showing up and putting in 100% is a great place to start.

Angles

Angles

Every athlete needs to understand the importance of Feel vs. Real.

This is essentially where you have a big disconnect between when you “feel” that you’re doing the right movement, and what’s actually happening in reality.

It’s an all too common trap that so many athletes find themselves in, but this is where angles come in to save the day.

When you use CoachNow as part of your training, our Skeleton Tracking and Automatic Angle Detection tools take the guesswork completely out of your “Feel vs. Real” dilemma.

Tap any joint to view its angle, where you can analyze your movements in far greater detail than before and stay hyper-aware of your form.

By taking a more detailed approach to your training and utilizing the cutting-edge tools at your disposal, you’ll start reaching your goals way faster than you thought possible!

Incorporating these simple strategies will transform the way you approach your training.

By staying organized, adapting to what works best for you, and utilizing the right tools, you'll be able to track your progress more effectively and accelerate your growth.

How has implementing these tips worked for you? What other ways do you track your progress? I’d love to hear from you!
