Today’s post is a sneak peek from the Level 2 ConnectedCoach Blueprint - an all-new course focused on helping you create new coaching products and unlocking the freedom that comes from multiple streams of income.

Level 1 and Level 2 are included with a CoachNow PRO membership. You can also purchase Level 1 a la carte at this link (level 2 will be available to the general public in the near future).

In Module 2 of the course, we focus extensively on the importance of growing your business by acquiring new leads.

And while it may be tempting to focus on making an initial sale, I can’t overstate the importance of capturing emails first and foremost.

In fact, I’d argue that capturing email leads and providing consistent value to those leads is THE most important thing you can do to grow your business. And, furthermore, I’d argue that the relationships you build with your potential customers are MORE important than the sale itself when thinking in the long term.

How do you deliver consistent value to your leads? By giving them valuable content.

Now, there’s many different directions you could go with this, and we cover it at length in several of our recent blog posts (See: The 7 Step Checklist to Launch Any Digital Coaching Product, Top 3 Coaching Monetization Strategies, 5-Step Checklist to Get More Clients, for more).

Whatever you do, be sure that most of the emails you send provide value without asking for anything in return. You don’t want to be seen as someone who only reaches out when YOU want something.

By doing so, you establish trust and credibility before even trying to make a sale. And, if you’re consistent, you’ll be the first person they think of when the need for coaching arises.

All that said, here’s my advice for how to effectively capture email leads:

  • Use a lead magnet: Offer a free resource or guide to entice potential customers to provide their contact information.
  • Customize email sequences: Once you have their email, add them to a pre-built email sequence that's customized based on their area of interest. This will allow you to send regular, high-value content to nurture the relationship and keep your business top of mind.
  • Send regular newsletters and launch promotions: As stated above, Newsletters are a great way to send high-value content and keep your audience engaged with your brand. Be sure to include a "forward to a friend" option in your newsletter, as this will help you grow your list. Additionally, limited-time launches are a great way to create urgency and scarcity around your products or services, which can help drive conversions.
  • Remember the "5 to 7 exposures" rule: Potential customers need to see your message at least 5 to 7 times before they will take action. So, whether you're sending newsletters or launch promotions, be sure to include a soft mention of your offers in all communications, and use urgency and scarcity to drive conversions.

In summary, as a coach, capturing email leads and building relationships with potential customers is crucial to growing your business.

By using lead magnets, customizing email sequences, and regularly sending newsletters and launch promotions, you can nurture your relationships, establish trust and credibility, and convert leads into customers.

We’ll be covering more on this topic in the weeks ahead, but I think that’s a good place to start.

As always, just reach out if you need help getting started. You’d be surprised by how much of a difference consistent touch points and email collection can make for your business. And it’s easier than you think to get the ball rolling!

Happy selling!
