In the last year since we launched our blog, we've covered a range of topics that are designed to help you grow your coaching business in the digital age. From focusing on digitizing your coaching , to making $100k+ coaching less than 30 hours a week , to getting started with long-term development programs , we've provided actionable insights that can make a meaningful difference for your growth in 2023 and beyond.
Since October, we’ve even included explicit “Action Items” at the end of our posts. I do NOT want you to look at this information and just think it’s all hypothetical. I’m not creating this content to offer an interesting perspective and nothing else.
It means nothing if you don’t take ACTION.
Today, I wanted to give a succinct list the action items we've assigned so far. We want you to see the progress you could have made had you been following along with our weekly content.
If you’ve been following along, consider this a victory lap, helping you see all the awesome stuff you’ve accomplished, one small step at a time.
If you’ve missed these action items, it’s not too late! You’ll find everything you need to catch up here.
With that all explained, here is a list of all the action items we've given coaches in the last quarter of 2022:
Focus On What Athletes WANT, Not WHAT YOU THINK THEY NEED -
Identify your main “headline” or “hook” on your offer and analyze it with this content in mind. If your bio focuses on YOU and YOUR qualifications, tweak it to focus on THEM and THEIR wants.
What pain points are they experiencing? What outcomes do they dream about? What emotions are they feeling?
How to Make $100,000+/ Year Coaching Less Than 30 Hours a Week (Yes, Really) -
Choose 3 of your current dedicated athletes and introduce the $100k offer to them. Pick athletes that you know are in it for the long haul and who are eager to try new technology.
Emphasize that this will give them more value while helping you take your business to the next level. Offer them a discounted rate FOR LIFE.
Getting Started with Long-Term Development Programs - 3 Key Components
Choose 3 of your current dedicated athletes on your “lessons” plan and talk with them about long term development .
Ask them where they want to go, what their goals are, and how you can help them achieve their goals with your new long term development program(s). Clearly define the minimum expectations and commitment as we described it in this post.
How to Introduce Long-Term Development Programs into Your Coaching Offer -
Brainstorm 3 long-term development programs. Summarize each program, describing your ideal personas for each (e.g. age, skill level, goals etc.). Assign a price to each (and remember to keep in mind our past advice around pricing tiers).
5-Step Checklist to Get More Clients. What’s Your Answer to These 5 Questions? -
Choose just one of these 5 steps and analyze your business with it in mind. Pick the one that is the most obvious place for you to start.
3 MORE Reasons You're Gonna Quit Coaching (Don't Let This Be You)
Make just ONE tweak to one of the areas I spoke about in this post.
Want to increase retention? Try filming recaps with your athletes and posting it in CoachNow (or whatever platform you’re using).
Want to reduce distraction? Set clear boundaries and consolidate your communication.
Want to shift your mindset? Try your best to remove your ego from your business. And ask yourself - what’s working? What’s not? Where is the low hanging fruit that you can leverage to make yourself more money, save yourself time and avoid burnout at all costs?
The Magic of Video Recaps | Change Your Coaching Business in 2 Minutes
This week, try implementing recaps at the end of each of your live sessions.
Start small and don’t overthink it. Simply hit that big orange button in your athlete’s Space, summarize some key learnings, answer any questions your athlete may have, then post it.
2023 is a new year with new opportunities, and we want to support your growth however we can.
As you can see, the action items themselves are quite simple and don’t take long to complete. However, over time these small steps really add up. A year of small steps could transform your business entirely for the better.
Remember, the only way to improve is to take action, so don't hesitate to start implementing these steps today. And be sure to follow along with our weekly content in 2023 to continue making positive changes.
See you next week!
